Till the End of Time is the third instalment of the widely popular Star Ocean series, Star Ocean 2 being claimed as one of the greatest Playstation RPG game ever. This would be my first Star Ocean game I’ve played since the previous Star Ocean games are extremely rare to find over here in England.

So when I saw an advertisement in magazines, since I was looking for some RPGs to play around Christmas time, I stumbled across Star Ocean. Two things caught my eyes, ‘SquareEnix’ and 60 Hours of Gameplay. Any RPG by Square RPG with 60 hours plus was good enough for me.

So I managed to get hold of the game around Christmas alongside with the Final Fantasy 12 demo disk. When I got the game home I realised it had two disks! I hadn’t seen an RPG with multiple disk since Final Fantasy 9! But after completing the game, I wished they’d had left it at only one disk.

Star Ocean is a great RPG which I would recommend to any RPG fan however, the game loses strong marks due to the second half of the game which in my opinion is all over the place and really, really messy. After playing the first half of the game which is loaded with lots of brilliant ideas and moments, the second disk almost utterly fails to do so..

This is mainly due to a plot twist which will just about change every single thing you’ve been doing for the last 20 hours of Gameplay. It makes everything you’ve done up till that point stupid and meaningless. However the plot twist will not necessarily ruin the game for everyone, but the majority of gamers will hate the game for it
