CONTACT INFO AND AUTHOR'S NOTE --------------------------------------------------------------------- This is one hell of a game. Even now people still play it years after it's release. This leads them to my guide, and my inbox being stuffed full of questions. So, if you feel like contacting me, read on: I will not accpet any more emails concerning Final Fantasy VII. Oh, wait, that kinda defeats the purpose of this section... Well that's not all. I have recieved literally hundreds of questions simply because people were too damn lazy to read my guide. I listed my contact info for the following: :: Webmasters who wanted to host this guide :: Criticism either positive or negative :: Questions not answered in the guide :: Contributions :: and people who just wanted to drop me a line and chat Instead I got email concerning: :: Questions already answered :: Death Threats - how the hell this happened is beyond me :: Viruses and Trojans :: SPAM - I don't care for your half assed money making schemes :: Chain Letters This let me to wonder, "What the hell kind of mailing list am I on?" Well I don't care anymore, I am now hereby ignoring all emails concerning FFVII. The only emails I will not delete on sight are those concerning anyoen who is trying to breach my copyright. Oh and for those really tricky people who think that if they don't write "FFVII" in the subject line, I might accidentally read it, you are wrong. If you didn't notice it above, I get plenty of crap mail, and I will simply delte anything without a subject line. If I haven't covered whatever message you might want to send, rest assured it's most like one that I will not answer. Please note, I do not check my email everyday, in fact I only check it weekly. Even when I check it, it may take weeks to answer as I do have a job, school and my own life to deal with. --------------------------------------------------------------------- II. REVISION HISTORY --------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 1 (March 11, 2000) - It is 3:00 A.M. and I'm starting a guide that everyone has already made before. Version 3 (April 24, 2000) - Fixed a few errors - Added a new section 'Hard to Find Materias' Version 4 (August 8, 2000) - Changed the ASCII art title - Edited the Copyright info - Redid my Review - Replaced the 'Hard to Find Materia' section with a new 'Materia Locations' section - Added 'Frequently Asked Questions' - Tons of minor polishing Version 4.1 (August 20. 2000) FINAL - Touched up the copyright a bit - Changed Intro to Contact Info (read it) --------------------------------------------------------------------- III. REVIEW --------------------------------------------------------------------- -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- GRAPHICS 9/10 Graphics are sweet. The cinemas are top notch and the word is detailed. It gets a 9 because the characters are... blah. Try comparing them to Final Fantasy VIII -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- SOUND 10/10 Nobuo Uematsu outdid himself. From the fast paced battle music, to the slow beat of Aeris' theme. Carrying in remixes of the Final Fantasy series, such as the Prelude, and Ending it out with one of the greatest pieces ever to hit a video game, One Winged-Angel. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- CONTROLS 9/10 The game was easy to control, except for those pesky ladders. Sometimes Cloud would get stuck. Still, for the most part, the controls worked fine, especially in mini games. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- GAMEPLAY 10/10 If you're into RPG's, you'll like this. This is my favorite pure RPG. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- REPLAY 10/10 Hmmm... a 60 hour game. Add into account trying to master all materias, getting every item, every weapon, and maxing out nine characters stats. i've spent more time on this then most other games combined. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- VALUE 10/10 If you have it, play it now, if not, GET IT NOW. It's that simple -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- OVERALL: 10/10 RPG's wre pretty popular before (FFVI, Chrono Trigger and a few others helped that), but IMO it was Final Fantasy VII that made RPG's famous. Hell, it's what got me into RPGs. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- --------------------------------------------------------------------- IV. Eventually, you'll stop snowboarding and end up in a screen with a single tree in the middle. Now, go right and you'll go through two screeens that are empty. The third screen will be one with four paths. One going north, one going south, and two going west. Now you should go north. The first screen has nothing, but the second 'empty screen' is very interesting. in the middle of the path, you will see a small indention on the upper side. The path should look like this: \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \__ \ \ \ _\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ True, this ASCII art is crap, but it's the best I can manange. Anyway, it's not so slanted, and the indetion looks a lot more natural, but in that indention is a very faint light blue orb. Try it out with lightning against machines, ect. {This set up works with both magic and summon materias} 2. [In Armor] Elemental = (Elemental Materia) This adds elemental protection to your armor. Use this when fighting a boss of a specific type. Or when you are in a certain area (i.e. use Ice when in Gaea's Cliff) {This set up works with both magic and summon materias} -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 3. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Contain This makes your weapon provide a variety of status affects. You can afflict the + Stop + Petrify + Berserk + Confuse states to an opponent when you hit them normally. 4. [In Armor] Added Effect = Contain This protects you from all of the following status effects: + Stop + Petrify + Berserk + Confuse -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 5. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Poison You poison the enemy when they get hit. 6. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Destruct One hit kill. you prbably won't notice that it works, but it happens quite frequently. It also destroys barriers. 8. [In Armor] Added Effect = Destruct You can't be killed with the move "Death". -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 9. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Time You might put the opponent into the stop status or the slow status. 10. I like this one. You can turn enemies into minature things to squish, or frogs to laugh at. 12. [In Armor] Added Effect = Transform You can't be changed to a mini version of yourself, and you can't become a frog. Very helpful when fighting against frogs. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 13. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Mystify You can confuse and berserk some opponents with this set up. 14. [In Armor] Added Effect = Mystify You won't have to worry about being confused or berserked. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 15. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Seal You can shut them up with this set up. Silence and Sleep are given by this set up. 16. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Seal You will never go to sleep or shut up. Consider this set up as caffiene. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 17. [In anywhere] Counter Magic = Summon Materia If you get hit, you counter with a Summon 18. [In anywhere] Counter Magic = Magic Materia Link this together and you can counter the fool who decided to hit you. Do not put cure with this, or you will be sorry. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 19. [In anywhere] Counter = Mime A very unstable counter, but sometimes they come out big. 20. [In anywhere] Counter = Deathblow You get hit, you hit them for critical. Try this with a weapon that has 255% accuracy so that you never miss. 21. [In anywhere] Counter = Manipulate If you can't beat them, control them. Also good for learning Enemy Skills. Don't forget the Hypno Crown. 22. [In anywhere] Counter = Morph Try this on Yuffie when trying to morph the creatures in the Sunken Gelnika. 23. [In anywhere] Counter = Steal If they hit you, you mug them. Who gets the better end of the deal? 24. [In anywhere] Counter = Sense Can you say, "Utterly worthless"? Well, I shouldn't go that far as it is a very effective taunt. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 25. [In anywhere] Magic Materia = All Your magic hits all. Was that not obvious? Use it with Cure. 26. [In anywhere] Final Attack = Magic Materia Your get to cast a magic spell when you buy the farm. (Cough, cough.. Revive.. cough, cough) 26. [In anywhere] Final Attack = Summon Materia Your get to cast a summon when you well.. die. (Cough, cough.. Phoenix.. cough, cough) -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 27. [In anywhere] Quadra Materia = Magic Materia Unleash a magic spell four times. Ultima works nicely, as does Comet and Contain. 28. [In anywhere] Quadra Materia = Summon Materia Same as above. Any questions. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 29. [In anywhere] HP Absorb = Magic Materia You use the materia, get HP back. Nice. 30. [In anywhere] HP Absorb = Summon Materia Look above. 29. [In anywhere] MP Absorb = Magic Materia You use the materia, get MP back. Nice. 30. [In anywhere] MP Absorb = Summon Materia Look above. 31. [In anywhere] MP Turbo = Magic Materia Takes more MP, but the spell is considerably more powerful. 32. [In anywhere] MP Turbo = Summon Materia Takes more MP, but the summon is considerable more powerful. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 33. [In anywhere] Added Cut = Magic Materia When, you cast a spell, you attack the opponent. Do not link this to cure. If you do, you hit the person you cure. 34. [In anywhere] Added Cut = Summon Materia When you cast a summon, you hit the opponent at the end. Link this to Knights of the Round and become the fourteenth Knight! -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 35. [In anywhere] Sneak Attack = Magic Materia At the beginning of a battle, you automatically come out and cast a spell attached to your Sneak Attack 36. [In anywhere] Sneak Attack = Summon Materia At the beginning of a battle, you cast a summon. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 37. [In anywhere] Steal as Well = Magic Materia Cast a spell and take an item too. Two for the price of one. Just don't link this with cure. 38. [In anywhere] Steal as Well = Summon Materia You can mug 'em after a summon. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- NOTE: Before I go on, I would like to explain something. If you attach a support materia to a Master Command, and then have one of the Master Command Materias equipped, such as Morph, then use Morph in battle, you get the effect of the support materia. 39. [In anywhere] Added Cut = Master Command; Command Materia When you use the command, you get an extra cut. Try this with 4X Cut and get a 5X Cut. 40. [In anywhere] Steal as Well = Master Command; Command Materia When you use the Command, you steal from them too. 41. [In anywhere] HP Absorb = Master Command; Command Materia You take in HP when you use a certain Command. 42. [In anywhere] MP Absorb = Master Command; Command Materia Well, if you read the above, you should be able to piece this together. You get MP when you sue the Command. 43. [In anywhere] Final Attack = Master Command; Command Materia You die, you get an extra command in. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 44. [In anywhere] Full Cure = HP Absorb When you cure someone else, you cure yourself. 45. [In anywhere] W - Summon; Summon Materia You can now cast two summons in one turn. 46. [In anywhere] W - Magic; Magic Materia You can now cast two magic spells in one turn. 47. [In anywhere] Mega All; Magic Materia All your magic (minus certain ones like Contain and Full Cure) now have the "all" effect. 48. [In anywhere] Mega All; Command Materia When you make a command, you target all. This turns Attack into Slash All. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 49. [In anywhere] Counter Attack; Counter Attack You can link as many Counter Attacks as you want. The more you have equipped, the more Counter Attack. 50. [In anywhere] Cover; Counter Attack You take a hit and then Counter Attack. Connect a lot of these, and you'll make the enemy very sorry they tried to piss off your teammate. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | B. Advanced Strategies | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= NOTE: Many people do not know that you can link materia more than once. (i.e. By this, I mean that you can link a Fire Materia to a HP Absorb, and then link another Fire to a MP Absorb. In battle, when you cast Fire, you receive HP and MP. This is only one example. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 51. [In anywhere] Magic Materia = HP Absorb; (Same) Magic Materia = MP Absorb When you cast the spell, you get both MP and HP back. 52. [In anywhere] Summon Materia = HP Absorb; (Same) Summon Materia = MP Absorb Casting the summon results in getting HP and MP back. 53. [In anywhere] Master Command = HP Absorb; Master Command = MP Absorb; Command Materia When you use a certain Command, you receive HP and MP. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 54. [In anywhere] Summon Materia = MP Absorb; (Same) Summon Materia = MP Turbo Cast a summon without the worry of MP. 55. [In anywhere] Summon Materia = HP Absorb; (Same) Summon Materia = MP Absorb; (Same) Summon Materia = MP Turbo Now you can get HP back too. Nice combo, cast a powerful spell and the only effect is that you get HP back. 56. [In anywhere] Summon Materia = HP Absorb; (Same) Summon Materia = MP Absorb; (Same) Summon Materia = MP Turbo; (Same) Summon Materia = Quadra Magic; One word: DAMN. You cast a Summon and you don't lose MP, get HP back, and hit them four times. 57. [In anywhere] Magic Materia = MP Absorb; (Same) Magic Materia = MP Turbo Cast magic and lose no MP. 58. [In anywhere] Magic Materia = MP Absorb; (Same) Magic Materia = MP Turbo; (Same) Magic Materia = HP Absorb Lose no MP and get HP for casting a spell. 59. [In anywhere] Magic Materia = MP Absorb; (Same) Magic Materia = HP Absorb; (Same) Magic Materia = MP Turbo; (Same) Magic Materia = Quadra Magic; Mega - All Same as #56. Except this one uses Magic, and it targets all with the use of Mega - All. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 60. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Contain; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Pre - Emptive; Mega - All; You automatically do a Deathblow to all enemies on the battlefield and have a chance to stop, petrify, confuse, or berserk the opponents... or kill them. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. 61. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Destruct; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Pre - Emptive; Mega - All You automatically do a Deathblow to all enemies on the battlefield and have a chance to hit for one hit kill. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. 62. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Poison; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Pre - Emptive; Mega - All You automatically do a Deathblow to all enemies on the battlefield and have a chance to poison all of them. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. 63. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Time; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Pre - Emptive; Mega - All You automatically do a Deathblow to all enemies on the battlefield and have a chance to slow or stop all of them. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. 64. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Seal; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Pre - Emptive; Mega - All You automatically do a Deathblow to all enemies on the battlefield and have a chance to silence or put all of them to sleep. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. 65. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Mystify; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Pre - Emptive; Mega - All You automatically do a Deathblow to all enemies on the battlefield and have a chance to berserk or confuse all of them. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. 66. [In Weapon] Added Effect = Transform; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Pre - Emptive; Mega - All You automatically do a Deathblow to all enemies on the battlefield and have a chance to turn all opponents into frogs or minis. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. 67. Do this with a 255% accuracy weapon for maximum affect. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 68. [In anywhere] Sneak Attack = Comet; MP Absorb = Comet; Quadra Magic = Comet You can use any magic really, but Comet 2 hits mulptile enemies and gives you the best chance of getting full MP back so you can do this over and over again. 69. [In anywhere] Sneak Attack = Knights of the Round; MP = Absorb Kill, Kill, Kill. That's the theme for the day. This will get you full MP and you can loop this to never have to tap buttons during a random battle ever again. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | C. Character Set Ups | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 1. For this set up, equip the Ultimate Weapons and the Wizard Bracelets. Vincent and Tifa don't work well with this as the varibles for their weapons are unsteady. For Vincent, use the Outsider. [In Weapon] Cover = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; [In Armor] Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack Well, this is supremely cheap. If these are all mastered, you will kill things so fast it isn't funny. If you hit for 9999 HP, this is stronger than Knights of the Round. You hit 15 times, and Knights of the Round only hits 13 times. Use Yuffie and her Conformer for best results. Cid and Red XIII also work well given that they have full MP. BTW, I've tried this against Emerald and it killed him so badly that I couldn't stop laughing for half an hour. Look below for Emerald strategies. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 2. For this strategy, use any weapon and armor so long as the have 6 slots with three pairs each. The Escort Guard, Minerva Band, Mystile, and Imperial Guard work just fine. These weapons work well too: CLOUD - Ultimate Weapon, Crystal Sword, Ragnorak, and Enhance Sword TIFA - Premium Heart and Crystal Glove BARRET - Missing Score, Max Ray, Pile Banger, Solid Bazooka and AM Cannon RED XIII - Limited Moon, Spring Gun Clip, and Crystal Comb YUFFIE - Conformer and Crystal Cross CAIT SITH - HP Shout, Starlight Phone, Battle Trumpet, Gold M-Phone and Crystal M-Phone VINCENT - Death Penalty, Supershot ST, Long Barrel R and Winchester CID - Venus Gospel, Glow Lance and Partisan [In Weapon] Magic Materia = MP Turbo Magic Materia = MP Absorb Magic Materia = HP Absorb [In Armor] Magic Materia = Quadra Magic Magic Materia = Sneak Attack Mega All = W - Magic hehe.. I like doing this just for fun. This works with all the normal spells, like Lightning and Fire. If you are using Contain, Ultima, or Comet, try taking out Mega All for Magic Plus. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Now, I'll list the my set ups for each character. Please note that all materia is mastered. 3. Cloud Ultimate Weapon Mystile Ribbon [In Weapon] 2X Cut = Added Cut Master Summon = HP Absorb Master Summon = MP Absorb Knights of the Round = Quadra Magic [In Armor] W - Summon = Master Command Final Attack = Phoenix Master Magic = Enemy Skill EVALUATION: Ahh.. good ol' Cloud. This set up great. I like it on Cloud, since he can do so much with it. Normally, all he does is use 4X Cut (actually hits five times here) and annihilate opponents. When up against the Weapons, he had the variety of all Enemy Skills, all Magic Spells, and all Summons. He uses Phoenix if he were to die, and all his summons give him back MP, thus he can keep up magic for quite awhile. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 4. Tifa God's Hand Minerva Band Ribbon [In Weapon] Added Effect = Destruct Pre - Emptive = Mega - All Sneak Attack = Deathblow Mime = W - Magic [In Armor] Counter = Deathblow Added Cut = Master Command Master Magic = MP Absorb EVALUATION: Her purpose, is to unleash Deathblows. She starts off battles, with a Deathblow that has a chance of killing all opponents. On top of that, she usually does it to the back. She can mimic other people's moves (summons) and she has magic. When she gets hit, another Deathblow-All. Plus she gets an added cut. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 5. Barret Missing Score Escort Guard Ribbon [In Weapon] Added Effect = Mystify Mega All = Enemy Skill Master Command = HP Absorb Master Command = Added Cut [In Armor] Master Command = Steal as Well Deathblow = Counter Final Attack = Phoenix EVALUATION: Not much to say here, except that you can basically tell that the main idea here is deathblow. Mystify may put opponents to sleep. I like sleeping opponents. It seems to make them easier to hit with Deathblow. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 6. Red XIII Limited Moon Aegis Armor Ribbon [In Weapon] Added Effect = Destruct; 2X Cut = Master Command; Master Magic = MP Absorb Enemy Skill = W - Summon [In Armor] Master Summon = HP Absorb Final Attack = Revive EVALUATION: Pretty straight forward. I mainly use the Four Times Cut and Magic with him, thus keeping his MP up and his weapon strong. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 7. Yuffie Conformer Wizard Bracelet Ribbon [In Weapon] Cover = W - Item; Counter = Morph; Counter = Morph; Counter = Morph; [In Armor] Counter = Morph; Counter = Morph; Counter = Morph; Counter = Morph EVALUATION: I used this set up while getting sources for maxing out my characters. Very useful mind you since she hits for 9999 damage when equiped with the conformer. Seven morphs everytime someone trys to attack anyone on the party. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 8. Cait Sith HP Shout Imperial Guard Ribbon [In Weapon] W -Summon = W - Magic; Mega All = W -Item; Enemy Skill = Master Command; Master Summon = HP Absorb; [In Armor] Master Summon = MP Absorb; Final Attack = Revive; Master Magic = Quadra Magic; EVALUATION: More of the well rounded type. I never liked or used this overgrown idiot, I don't pay much attention to him. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 9. Vincent Outsider Wizard Bracelet Ribbon [In Weapon] Added Effect = Time; Sneak Attack = Deathblow; Mega - All; Master Command; Cover; Pre - Emptive [In Armor] Counter = Deathblow; Counter = Deathblow; Counter = Deathblow; Counter = Deathblow EVALUATION: I don't really use Vincent much, and it shows. He isn't bad though, since he can Deathblow like nobody's business. He'll be kind of useful for random battles since he has so much power in his first move. If you are attacked, he will provide cover and then Deathblow a few times for good measure. He has Mime since his abilities are limited when having a character that mass counters. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- 10. Cid Venus Gospel Mystile Ribbon [In Weapon] Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; [In Armor] Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Cover EVALUATION: Well, this is sick. Does as much as Knights of the Round, but I figured I would give him this since he shouldn't use MP. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- TEAM EVALUATION: I've been playing this game so long that, I have accomplished the following: + Mastered every single materia at least 6 times. + Given everyone their Level 4 Limit Break (even Aeris, I can't tell you how long I sat in the Temple of Time) + Everyone to Level 99 (obviously, any half way decent player can do this) + Beaten Emerald Weapon through brute power. + Beaten Ruby while eating lunch. + And my most crowning achievement, is that I have maxed out everyones stats. They are all at 255. Basically this means that their speed is so fast that my eyes can't follow it, they always hit 9999 even when Cloud is equipped with the Buster Sword. And when I say 255 I mean that it is their base stat not including Ultimate Weapons and good Armor. They have 255 when equipped with their initial weapon and the Bronze Bangle. Now the point of this is: I have been asked multiple times why I don't just equip all my characters with the "Ultimate Materia Set Up" (Which I'll add at the end.) Simple, I don't need it. In fact, I don't need any materia, but it is just fun to watch Cid do a Knights of the Round eqiuvalent every turn. I just like it and that is the whole point of playing a video game. Now, my Ultimate Character: (Ultimate Weapon) Mystile Ribbon [In Weapon] MP Absorb = Master Magic; Quadra Magic = Master Magic; MP Absorb = Master Summon; HP Absorb = Master Summon; [In Armor] Final Attack = Phoenix; Enemy Skill = W-Summon; W-Magic = Master Command EVALUATION: True, there are better combos for certain situations, but but technically it doesn't matter. I consider this ultimate because it can easily take out any enemy in the game. It casts Phoenix when the character dies (yea right). Enemy Skill gives you Big Guard, healing spells and great attacks like Shadow Flare. You can cast two spells per turn and you get healed in terms of both MP and HP on each casting. W-Magic, and Quadra Magic means that you can cast one Spell eight times in one round, and you'll get enough MP back so you won't run out. Not many enemies come to mind when I try and think of something capable of surviving eigth straight Ultimas or Contains. Oh, and imagine Comet 2. It already hits multiple times. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- VI. EMERALD WEAPON ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Emerald Weapon is the cretue that swims around the ocean floor. He looks like a big green headless monster. It has huge shoulders and you shouldn't have too much trouble to find it. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- | A. Statistics of Emerald Weapon | -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= HP: 1,000,000 MORPH: Nothing EXP: 50,000 STEAL: Nothing AP: 50,000 ITEM DROPPED: Earth Harp GIL: 50,000 ATTACKS: + Emerald Shoot This is Emerald Weapon's main attack. It inflicts around 7000 damage to each character. He will use this quite often. + Emerald Beam After taking enough damage, Emerald will use this attack. It does considerably less, about 5000, but some people have told me it also inflicts DeSpell. After he does this move, he will open 4 "eyes". + Eyes There are four of these. Two drain about 400 MP and the other two each hit for about 3000. Each Eye has about 20000 HP. + Revenge Stomp If you destroy an eye, Emerald will stomp the entire party for about 2500. He will use this each time an eye is destroyed. + Aire Tam Storm Everyone knows about this move by now. When you destroy all four eyes, Emerald will do this. Everyone seems to think that it will always do 9999 damage. This is far from the truth. Aire Tam Storm's damage is determined by the amount of materia that is worn. For every piece of materia, Aire Tam Storm will do 1100 damage. So if you are wearing 10 or more, it will do 9999, if you are wearing 3 it will do 3300, and if you are wearing no materia, it will do 0000. Square even hinted at this. Aire Tam spelled backwords is... Materia SEQUENCE OF ATTACKS: I've seen a lot of my friends try and just overpower Emerald without looking for a pattern. Big mistake. The thing will crush you. Look at it. He has a sequence he follows, so you can anticipate what he'll do and prepare for it. The sequence goes like... 1. Emerald Shoot (It'll do this for awhile) 2. Emerald Beam 3. Open Eyes 4. Eyes attacking and Emerald Shoot 5. (When an eye is killed) Revenge Stomp 6. (When all eyes are killed) Aire Tam Storm 7. Repeat So basically, it will use Emerlad Shoot. When it uses Emerald Beam, watch for the eyes. If you kill and eye, make sure you can survive Revenge Stomp. When you kill all the eyes, make sure you can survive Aire Tam Storm. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- | B. How I Beat Emerald | -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Now then, I'll give advice first. Make sure you wear some Mystiles. They are the best armor, since you can avoid half of all attacks caused by Emerald. Physical Attacks are strong, especially Limits. Emerald causes no Status Effects, so you don't need to waste your accessory on Ribbon. Try Touph Ring or Champion Belt. Sprint Shoes aren't so good, and I'll go into that later. Oh and don't equip ultimate weapons. Emerald gives tons of AP and you'll want to take advantage. Now your equipment. I used the team of Cloud, Cid, and Yuffie. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Cloud Ragnorak Mystile Choco Feather [In Weapon] 2X Cut = Added Cut Knights of the Round = MP Absorb Knights of the Round = Quadra Magic [In Armor] W - Summon = Master Command Final Attack = Phoenix Master Magic = Enemy Skill -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Yuffie Oritsuru Mystile Touph Ring [In Weapon] Cover = Counter Attack; Counter Attack = Counter Attack; Counter Attack; Counter Attack; 2X Cut; W - Item [In Armor] Counter = Deathblow; Counter Attack = Underwater; Magic Counter = Ultima -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Cid Scimitar Rune Armlet Champion Belt [In Weapon] Final Attack = Bahamut Zero; [In Armor] W - Magic = Mega All; Master Magic = HP Absorb -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Here's how it went: I had Could use Big Guard (which is why Sprint Shoes don't matter) at the start of the fight. Cid used Regen and then Comet 2. Yuffie used Four Times Cut. Now, I was set. I had Regen, Haste, and Wall up. Yuffie was taking it hard when the Mystile didn't defend, but all and all the Regen plus Mystile had her living. I had Cid use cure Yuffie nearly every turn till I ran out of MP and then used a Megalixer. All during this, Yuffie was using Four Times Cut and Cloud was enjoying the power of Knights of the Round. Yuffie died after the first Emerald Beam and the eyes came out. One shot Cid, he died, and cast Bahamut Zero. Cloud avoided the Revenge Stomp, but didn't get quite that lucky against Aire Tam Storm. He was dead, and then Final Attack = Phoenix came in, and voila, I'm alive. Big Guard back up, and I used Cid to cast two Comet 2's, and he hit Yuffie one more time and bought the farm. I cast Knights twice (W - Summon) and used one Omnislash. I used no Highwinds, but I managed three Doom of the Livings. Cid was mainly there to cure Yuffie and reep in the rewards of double and triple AP growth. Too bad Master Magic didn't get any AP :-) -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- C. Cheapo Strategies These are cheap tricks that almost guarntee that you beat Emerald. 1. Knights of the Round with W - Summon and keep mimicing. Final Attack Revive is added in. 2. Duplicate Megalixers and keep using them in battle while having Knights of the Round being cast every turn. Final Attack Revive is again used. 3. Statistics of Ruby Weapon | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= HP: 1,000,000 MORPH: Nothing EXP: 50,000 STEAL: Nothing AP: 50,000 ITEM DROPPED: Desert Rose GIL: 50,000 ATTACKS: + Whirlsand Sucks a character into the ground and they cannot participate in the battle any longer. + Great Sweep Hits for about 4500 damage to all characters. + Shadow Flare Damages a single character for about 7000. + Ultima Same as the spell. It uses it as a counter for Knights of the Round. I've heard that it uses it as a counter for other spells too, but I have no idea. + Ruby Fire Fire damage to one character. + Ruby Ray Does roughly 3000 damage to one character, but it adds confusion sometimes. + [Regular Attack] Does about 3500 damage to one character + Tentacles There are two of these. They each have about 50,000 HP. One drains about 500 MP and the other hits for about 2500 damage. SEQUENCE OF ATTACKS: Ruby's fighting depends on the current situtation. He likes to fight one on one. If you have more than one character out and his claws aren't in the ground, he will use Whirlsand until only one is left standing. He will never suck out all the characters though. If his claws are in the ground, then he'll try to retract them so he can use Whirlsand. Oh, forgot to mention that when he sticks his claws in the ground, he can't use his regular attack, Whirlsand, and Great Sweep. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | B. How I Beat Ruby | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= First off, everyone knows that if two of your characters are already dead, then Ruby will immediately put his claws into the ground. Next, he _can be stopped_, literally. Hades works wonders. Also, he doesn't get hurt by physical attacks. Well, he does, but I've omnislashed him when I had 238 strength with Cloud and did little more than 600 a pop. With that being said, I can assume you know to use Magic right? Now, on to the set up I used. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Cloud Enhance Sword Mystile Ribbon [In Weapon] Hades = Sneak Attack; Master Summon = MP Absorb; Knights of the Round = HP Absorb; Final Attack = Revive; [In Armor] Knights of the Round = Quadra Magic; Enemy Skill = Magic Plus; Speed Plus = W - Summon -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Yuffie It really doesn't matter -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Cid I'm not even going to repeat myself. Just read on and you'll know what I mean. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Here's how it went: I had Cloud kill off the other two in a random battle. Now, I entered battle and automatically cast Hades. It did a puny 400, but it did stop the big brute. I put on Big Guard, and then cast two Knights of the Round. By the time all the animations where done, I had Ruby almost dead and he woke up. Hit me with Ultima (actually, Cloud dodged it) and dug his hands in the sand and I used Hades again. He stopped and I finished with another casting of Knights. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | C. Cheapo Strategies | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 1. Well look above and you'll see my cheapo way. 2. Another one is to have W - Summon. Have HP Absorb and MP Absorb both hooked up to Knights of the Round. Equip Hades and Mime too. Then load up on Speed Plus and Magic Plus. Kill the others off. Get into battle with Sprint Shoes on. He will stick his claws in the ground. Now cast Hades on Ruby and Knights of the Round on the Claws. Just keep hitting that Mime button and you have him beat. Ruby can't kill you in one hit, assuming you have 9999 HP and Knights will always give you full MP and HP. His claws will always die to one Knights and prompt the Knights to attack Ruby. Hades will always keep him stopped. He will wake up, but Hades will stop him again. Equipping a Mystile also helps if you are worried about Ultima, which he always uses after waking up. 3. Have one character go in with Knights linked to HP Absorb. Have Counter and Mime linked. Have the Ribbon and 9999 HP. Load up on Magic Plus. Now, go in and cast Knights. It will make Ruby use Ultima and then you will counter and get all HP back. Whenever Ruby does anything, he gets hit and you get cured. He doesn't have any high damaging attack and you get cured after every attack, so you can't lose. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- VIII. This way, the Spell will hit the opponent three times. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + If you collect all six of the Turtle's Paradise Flyers, you will get a Megalixer, and one of each source. The flyers are at: • The wall of the boy that has 5 gil in Sector 5 Slums • The bulletin board in the lobby of the Shinra HQ • Ghost Hotel in the Gold Saucer • The inn in Cosmo Canyon • Tiger Lily Weapon's Shop in Cosmo Canyon • Yuffie's House -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + Special Flashback. To ge this, take Cloud back to the Nibelheim basement after the entire Mideel ordeel. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + How to get All Lucky 7777's. Make sure you have less than 7777 HP. Go into battle and let the opponent whack you until your HP is above and close to 77. Then turn the opponent(s) into frogs and let them hit you until you have HP that ends with 77, kill all enemies. Now, use Hi Potions and Potions to get your HP to 7777 (i.e. you have 6925 HP. You enter battle and get beaten up until your HP is 6781. You then kill all but one enemy and turn the last one into a frog. He will hit for 1 HP per turn. Wait until he hits you to 6777 HP. Then kill the frog. Now, use two Hi Potions and you are set. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + Cid's rocket code is Circle, , X, X. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + The Nibelheim safe code is • Right 36 • Left 10 • Right 59 • Right 97 -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + To get back into Midgar, you have to be in Disc 3. Go to Midgar and talk to the man there. Go to Bone Village and look for "Normal Treasure". Dig in the upper sectio of Bone Village and you will find a Key. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + There is a back room in the Item Store of Cosmo Canyon. After Meteor has been summoned, go to the store and the rope will be gone. Go in and find a Full Cure Materia, an Elixer and a Magic Source. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + To gain levels and AP fast, go to the Final Dungeon. Take the left path. You will come to another two paths and you should take the upper one. You will come across a place that has natural looking terrain. It also has green water in the center. This is the best developing in the game. Here, you fight a variety of creatures, but there are a few to look out for. They include: • Master Tonberry (comes in one) Looks like a big mole creature that carries a lantern and knife. HP: 45,000 MORPH: Ribbon EXP: 6,000 STEAL: Elixer AP: 200 ITEM DROPPED: Megalixer GIL: 6800 ATTACKS: * Everyone's Grudge This move does damge that is directly related to the number of opponents you have killed. I'd know the exact ratio to determine the damage, but most likely your most used characters will die in one hit (Cloud). This can be dodged. * Knife This is an instant kill move. He will have to be close to you to use this. NOTES: He gives decent AP and Exp. His main perk though is the fact that he can provide unlimited Ribbons and Elixers. Why are Elixers important when you can get Megalixers? Read on... • Magic Pot (comes in groups of two and three) The name gives it away. You'll know it when you see it. HP: 4096 MORPH: N/A EXP: 8,000 STEAL: N/A AP: 1000 ITEM DROPPED: Turbo Ether GIL: 8,500 ATTACKS: * [Steals Item] It will steal and item if you hit it. You get the item back if you beat it. NOTES: The Magic Pot is invunerable. That is, until you feed it an Elixer. Then you can kill it and reep the rewards. They give you massive AP and Exp. • Movers (comes in pairs of threes) Orange orbs that bounce around. HP: 3000 MORPH: Protect Ring EXP: 0 STEAL: Turbo Ether AP: 800 ITEM DROPPED: Turbo Ether GIL: 30,000 ATTACKS: * [Normal Hit] Hits for damage. NOTES: They are easy to hit and easy to kill. Tons of AP and Gil. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + To get the Guidebook, you need to fight Ghost Ships and Morph them. • Ghost Ship (comes in one) Looks like a skeleton on a ship with a paddle. HP: 6600 MORPH: Guidebook EXP: 1600 STEAL: Phoenix Down AP: 60 ITEM DROPPED: Phoenix Down GIL: 2000 ATTACKS: * [Normal Hit] Slaps you with his paddle. * St. Elmo's Fire Hits you with St. Elmo's Fire * Goannai Picks you up with a paddle and chunks you out of battle. This make you not be able to participate in the remainder of the battle. NOTES: You fight him in the Underwater Reactor. There is a place with two screens of a tunnel that is made of glass and outside is the ocean. He appears in both screens, but more frequently in the second. Or, you can fight him in the Battle Square, but there, the risk of Goannai is much more dangerous. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + The Ancient Forest is the home of several good items including the Apocalyse and Typoon. To get there, just beat Ultimate Weapon or ride on a chocobo with Mountain climbing abilities. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + The Sunken Gelnika is found in a grove to the south of Junon. It is underwater and the home of strong creatures. Why is this one of my favorite places? Two reasons: 1. The items are great. You get * Hades * Highwind * Conformer * 2X Cut * Megalixer X 2 * Escort Guard * Spirit Lance * Outsider and.. 2. I can max out my stats here. No, I don't mean getting to level 99, anyone can do that. I'm talking about getting all stats for all characters up to 255, the max. A lot of people have done this, but millions of people haven't. It is rare to do this, and if you have accomplished this, you are more than a master of this game in my book. It takes weeks to get every character to 255 stats round. To do this, you need to morph the enemies on the Gelnika. There are six in total and you can get six different sources. To do this, you have to morph. Yuffie and her Conformer are best suited for the job. See my Yuffie set up in the one of the previous sections of this guide. * Unknown 1 ~ Power Source * Unknown 2 ~ Guard Source * Unknown 2 ~ Magic Source * Bad Rap ~ Luck Source * Poodler ~ Speed Source * Serpent ~ Mind Source -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + Level Four Limit Break Locations * Cloud Get 32,000 BP at the Battle Square * Tifa Play the Piano at her house and you will eventually get it * Barret After stopping the Train, talk to the lady in the highest tent in North Coral. * Aeris This one is tricky. Normally, people get it after she.. um dies. You can get it for her before she does though. When you get the Buggy, drive it into Costa Del Sol. Get on the boat and return to Junon. Go to the World Map and you are in your buggy! Now head to the sleeping man's cave. If you have fought for a number of times that ends in identical digits (i.e. 188, 2055), he will give you something. He might give you a piece of Mythril. Take this to the Weapon Maker and he will let you rummage throught his trunks. You can check the big one for a Gold Armlet, or the small one at the top for Aeris' Limit. It is the BEST Limit, but not needed since she dies. Too bad.. would have made the Weapons as easy as Goblins. * Red XIII Beat Missing Number for it. * Yuffie Beat the Pagoda in Wutai * Cait Sith N/A * Vincent Talk to Lucrecia in the Second Disc. Go back to her cave in the Third disc and get this. * Cid Sunken Gelnika -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- + Ultimate Weapons * Cloud Beat Ultimate Weapon in the Third Disc. Prepare to chase him. * Tifa Go abck to the Wall Market and use the broken Vending Machine. * Barret Bring him with you to fight Hojo, and on the way up the stairs, he will see a green chest. If he is not with you, you will not get this weapon. * Red XIII Bugenhagen gives this to you before he dies. * Yuffie Sunken Gelnika * Cait Sith On the Midgar Raid, go up to the 64th floor and check the lockers. * Vincent Receive along with the Chaos. * Cid Talk to the Man who stares at the Rocket all day after the Rocket is destroyed. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- IX. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- In your materia set ups, you list that you have more than one Knights of the Round. How do you get more than one? To get more than one of a materia all you need to do is master it. When you master it, in the experience gain screen, it will say, '[materia] MASTERED' and '[materia] was born'. This means that since it was mastered, it spawned another one. The new one starts as if you just got it and will be at the end of the list. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- How do you get more than one Master Magic, Master Summon, and Master Command? When you master all the green or red materias you can go to Bugen's observatory and the Huge Materias will exchange your materias to a single Master Materia. For Command you only have to master a certain seven: Deathblow, Manipulate, Mime, Morph, Sense, Steal, and Throw. You can keep doing this to your descretion. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- How do you get [insert materia name here]? Well, I got tired of answering these questions, so I added a section that tells you where all the materias are located. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- What is the Sunken Gelnika? If you follow the story, Rufus mentioned Shinras gelnika plane. Apparently it was shot out of the sky when the weapons attacked cause you can find it sunk in the ocean. It's in a small groove underwater just south of Junon. What's interesting about this place is that it has awesome items and you can morph all the enemies here for unlimited sources. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- You listed in your guide that you had the KOTR linked with Quad Magic. I've tried this before and I know it doesn't work. Well, you might be right (all 50 billion of you who've emailed me), but I compiled most of this from memory, and when I wrote this guide, I hadn't played it in months. I did go back and check several things with my saved games, but this is ridiculous. I'm entitled to make mistakes, and if this is a mistake, (apparently so) then I'm sorry, but I'm not about to go through this entire guide just to change it. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Why did you ignore my email? Read the very first section of this guide and then see if you can figure it out. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- X.
