Final Fantasy: Advent Children
What does
that mean to you? To me it is something that is
well over due something much wanted by the fans
A follow up to most probably the most loved Final
Fantasy game that Square EVER conjured up, Final
Fantasy VII. FFVII: AC, unlike its predecessor,
is a complete CGI film much like the flop that
was Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (which I
feel was actually a good film). FF: AC isn't due
to hit the cinemas like FFTSW did, instead it
is going straight to the miracle that is DVD.
It will also be a testing ground for the success
of another up-and-coming project, the PSP. Being
released on it's own video format UMD.
The film is said to be 70-80 mins long, which
lets face it does seem a tad short, but hey, beggars
can't be choosers right? The original project
was not far from the PS3 FFVII tech demo in the
way that is was created. Originally it was only
supposed to be a demo made by Square and there
CGI specialists 'Visual Works'. However the demo
ended up turning in to a full motion picture.
With the coming of the second section of the story
brings back all of your favourite characters,
with 20 in total.
Set two years after the events of Final Fantasy
VII, Cloud now leads a solitary life traveling
the Planet as a transporter. The office of Strife
Delivery Service is located in 7th Heaven, which
also functions as an orphanage for children stricken
with Geostigma...
It is expected to be released in Japan at the
end of 2004, with a US release to follow shortly
after [first quarter of 2005]. No word on a European
or Australian release has been made as yet
