A charming, well informed sky pirate, Balthier joins Vaan during his break-in of the Palace with somewhat unknown motives. He owns an airship, and along with his partner Fran, claims to be simply searching for treasure but it is clear that he is after something else as well. He harbors a mysterious past and is aligned with no country or leader.
