The party meets Frog, who, as his name suggests, is a Frog, in 600 AD. He once was a skilled swordsman who aided the legendary Guardian Knight Cyrus on his quest for the Masamune. After Cyrus was defeated by Magus, Frog (who was then known as Glenn) is transformed by Magus into his current form. He changed his name to Frog and now lives as a near hermit in a forest inhabited only by monsters. Although Frog is very honorable and generally courageous, his shame at have being turned into a frog makes him reluctant to leave his forest except for in very serious situations. Frog uses a Broadsword and later in the game gains the ability to use Water magic. In the Japanese version Frog's name was Kaeru which means both frog and to transform. This pun however, didn't work in English and so he is merely known as Frog.
